Afristar Freight Services is an NVOCC and Freight Forwarding company that offers the flexibility to tailor-make our services to meet our customers specific requirements.

The company was founded by the Managing Director Michael Ryan after a 22 year career in the ships’s agency and freight forwarding industry. His family have been a part of the naval and merchant maritime history of South Africa for the past 100 years and Afristar is a continuation of this proud legacy.

The company’s mission statement is to become “an integral part of its customers’ supply chain, focusing on personal attention to their individual needs.”

Afristar’s shareholders and management team have a combined experience of 126 years in the logistics industry which includes NVOCC, Freight Forwarding and Customs Clearing, Ships Agency, Supply Chain Management and Road Freight.

With the head office in Durban being located in Africa’s busiest port, the company is ideally situated to service sub-Saharan Africa and beyond.
